Ce retable combine l'Assomption de la Vierge avec deux saints : l'Archange Michel qui soumet Satan et Benoît. Elle a été peinte vers 1493–1495 pour le couvent olivier de Saint Michel dans l'artiste originaire de Cortona. Bien que Signorelli ait conçu le retable et ait également peint la Vierge et saint Benoît, d'autres parties peuvent être faites par un assistant. Une grande partie de l'image est abrasée, mais la Vierge et saint Benoît sont relativement bien conservés. Le cadre est au XVIe siècle.
