Le Roverella Polyptych est considéré comme l'un des travaux les plus importants de Tura. A l'origine, il était situé dans l'église de San Giorgio fuori le Mura à Ferrara où il a été partiellement détruit par une bombe en 1709. Il fut commandé par Lorenzo Roverella, évêque de Ferrara. Selon la version la plus acceptée de la reconstruction la Madonna Enthroned a constitué le panneau central, ce fragment montrant St George appartenait au panneau de gauche, tandis que sur la droite un panneau représentant Niccolo Roverella avec deux saints a été localisé. Au-dessus de l'autel il y avait une Pietà. Ci-dessous, sur la predella il y avait sept tonnedos dont quatre sont perdus. C'est l'un des trois tonnedos restants, les deux autres sont l'Adoration de Magi et le Vol vers l'Egypte.
