Luise de Mecklembourg-Strelitz (1776-1810) épousa l'héritier prussien du trône Friedrich Wilhelm III. (1770-1840), avec qui elle eut neuf enfants. Sa résistance personnelle aux conditions strictes de paix dictées par la France contre la Prusse en 1807 et sa mort prématurée en 1810 ont fait de la reine Louise une figure symbolique populaire.
