Les contacts établis à Paris, entre 1934 et 35, avec le milieu intellectuel et artistique de l'avant-garde conduisent Pedro à signer, avec Arp, Calder, les Delaunays, Duchamp, Miró, Moholy-Nagy et Picabia, entre autres, le Manifeste dimensionniste, une tendance qui vise à effacer la frontière entre les arts par l'introduction de l'espace-temps comme quatrième dimension. Pour Pedro, il représentait la possibilité de construire un pont de son activité poétique aux arts plastiques, ouvrant l'art portugais à un nouvel espace pour la relation art-littérature, conformément aux théories et expériences de l'art international de l'époque.
