L'histoire: Endymion, envoyé pour dormir à jamais par le commandement de Jupiter, en retour pour avoir obtenu la jeunesse perpétuelle, a été visitée nuit par la déesse Diana. La belle jeunesse, Endymion, qui est tombée dans un sommeil éternel, a capté l'imagination des poètes et des artistes comme symbole de l'intemporalité de la beauté qui est « une joie pour toujours ».
