Ce modèle « Brocatel » est l'un des trois derniers dessins attribués à William Morris, aux côtés de « Ispahan » et de « Golden Bough ». Tous trois ont été conçus pour l'exposition Arts and Crafts de 1888. Il est possible que les modèles aient été conçus en collaboration avec John Henry Dearle, apprenti de Morris, qui lui a succédé comme directeur artistique de Morris & Co.
