Bateau latéral (snare) de W. S. Tompkins, Yonkers, New York, 1860 (NMM 10141). Ce tambour de présentation décoré avec ornement a été commandé pour le batteur Thomas J. Hellrigle, par plusieurs citoyens de Dayton, Ohio. La coquille d'acajou comporte un champ d'étoiles disposées en cercles concentriques autour d'une grande étoile centrale. Il y a dix remorqueurs en cuir coupés en forme de boucliers, chacun avec les initiales T.J.H. gravées sur de petits boucliers argentés fixés au remorqueur. Un grand bouclier argenté attaché directement à la coque du tambour est gravé avec Hellrigle
