Zha Shibiao, également connu sous son nom de courtoisie Erzhan et les noms de courtoisie Meihe, Meihesanren, et Mihedaoren, est né à Haiyang (maintenant Xiuning dans la province d'Anhui). Il était célèbre pour ses peintures de paysage, où il a d'abord imité Ni Zan puis Wu Zhen et Dong Qichang. Ses œuvres présentent la simplicité et portent une touche de solitude et de solitude. Zha était connu comme l'un des quatre peintres de l'école Xin, avec les trois autres étant Hongren, Sun Yi, et Wang Zhirui. Il a également étudié la calligraphie et rendu hommage au style de Mi Fu.
