Karen LaMonte is an American artist born on December 14, 1967. She is known for her life-size sculptures in ceramic, bronze, marble, and cast glass. Her works have been exhibited in numerous museums, including the Spencer Museum of Art, Toledo Museum of Art, Tucson Museum of Art, Vero Beach Museum of Art, and Corning Museum of Glass. LaMonte has a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. She has received recognition from institutions such as the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation. LaMonte's art explores the human figure through clothing, using it as an implied presence of the human figure. She has been creating figurative sculpture for over 15 years and currently lives and works in Prague.
