The World-Renowned Medical Book of Korea Dedicated to Gwanghaegun in 1610 by the 71-year-old royal physician, Heo Jun, Donguibogam is divided into five chapters: Naegyeongpyeon (Internal Medicine), Oehyeongpyeon (External Medicine), Japbyeongpyeon (Miscellaneous Diseases), Tangaekpyeon (Remedies), and Chimgupyeon (Acupuncture). Acknowledging its contribution to the world as a historical relic, UNESCO listed Donguibogam in its Memory of the World Programme in 2010, making the book Korea’s seventh cultural heritage to be included.
