Black Evening Cape with Medici Collar Sortie de Bal – (Jacques Doucet (Fashion Designer)) prijašnji Sljedeći

Tehnika: Feather

This elegant evening cape from deep black velvet is embroidered in rich contrast with gold-coloured metal sequins, black glass stones and gold filaments. The high “Medici collar” with ostrich feather trim flatters the face. Beneath this the circular-cut and densely gathered velvet falls from a flat shoulder yoke. The seam is concealed by a satin ribbon tied bows and rosettes that emphasizes the broad shoulder line typical of 1895. The embroidery has paisley motifs that ascend from a peripheral border climbing with japonaiserie leafed branch and floral motifs. The cape is fully lined in contrasting cream-coloured silk. Like Charles Frederick Worth and Pingat, Jacques Doucet (1853-1929) belonged to the first generation of large haute couture houses in Paris and was known for his rich, luxurious style.
