The human figure has captivated Sunshine for much of his artistic career. This portrait reflects his interest in the digital world of art-making. With his iPad, Sunshine snaps un-staged photographs of women he has come to know – capturing their poise, composure, and self-assurance –and then manipulates the colors, shapes, and lines to the point of reaching an effect similar to painting with watercolor. He prints these conceptualized portraits as unique works of art on woven rag paper to further play with the viewer
