Lo scultore in pietra Adam Kraft, che creò il tabernacolo nella Chiesa di San Lorenzo a Norimberga negli anni dal 1493 al 1496, fu uno degli scultori preeminanti attivi in Franconia intorno al 1500, insieme a Veit Stoss e Tilman Riemenschneider. La ragazza con gli stemmi è l'unico lavoro di questo artista che si trova in un museo fuori Norimberga. È robustamente costruita e ha tutta la freschezza dell'umanità reale, senza alcun tocco di idealizzazione. Sta tenendo gli stemmi araldici di due famiglie patrizie: nella mano destra, quello degli Imhoff, e nella sua sinistra, quello dei Muffels. Nel 1486 Hans V. Imhoff aveva sposato Katharina Muffel von Eschenau. La ragazza con gli stemmi può aver adornato passi in pietra presso la casa di trading Imhoff nella Tucherstrasse di Norimberga.
