Vista del porto di Barcellona visto dal quartiere Barceloneta. Sulla destra possiamo vedere il vecchio edificio del maestro portuale, e il faro del porto. Al centro della composizione l'artista ha dipinto il vascello a vapore misto le Comillas (1869-1890) [precedentemente la Infanta Isabel (1863-1868)]. La Comillas fu costruita nel 1863 presso il cantiere navale Denny di Dumbarton (Scozia). Costruito per salpare la linea Santander-Puerto Rico-Havana, è partito da Santander il 15 di ogni mese. Nel 1891 fu venduto per rottami. Fu usato per trasportare i soldati a Cuba.
