George Lambert (1873-1930), artista, ha trascorso alcuni anni della sua giovinezza sulla terra, mustering, shearing e godendo la compagnia di personaggi cespugli. Un talento per il disegno lo portò alla scuola d'arte a Sydney, che lasciò nel 1900. Dopo due anni a Parigi, dove si alleò all'Académie Colarossi, ritornò a Londra, dove rimase fino alla fine del 1920. Dashing e vigoroso, era un membro popolare di un cerchio di artisti, tra cui molti australiani, che frequentava il Chelsea Arts Club. Alf Vincent, un fumettista di Melbourne, visitò l'Inghilterra nel 1912. Tre anni dopo, a Sydney, si e' tagliato la gola.
