Nell'ottobre del 1905 la rivista "Świat Kobiecy" tenne la prima competizione per i capi femminili polacchi. Artisti, sarti e persone legate al mondo della moda sono stati invitati a partecipare. I disegni dovevano alludere ai costumi tradizionali polacchi o quelli con origini nell’abbigliamento dei nobili polacchi. I risultati della competizione furono annunciati il 12 febbraio 1906. 26 disegni sono stati inviati, compresi vestiti, bambole in versioni in miniatura dei disegni e disegni.
