La pratica di Rubens di usare persone reali come modelli per figure nelle sue scene religiose e mitologiche è stata seguita da vicino ad Anversa dai suoi colleghi più giovani Jacob Jordaens e Anthony van Dyck. Questo dipinto è stato attribuito a Rubens, ma le sue forme relativamente morbide e superficie texture sono tipiche del giovane Van Dyck e il contrasto con la modellazione enfatica di Rubens e bozze incisive.
