Antoni Gaudí era un architetto catalano. Il suo lavoro è insolito e difficile da classificare. Inizialmente seguiva i precetti dello stile moderno catalano ma si evolse verso un marcato funzionalismo con concessioni razionaliste. Questo disegno, un progetto per una fontana monumentale a Plaça Catalunya, è un'esercitazione dai suoi anni studenteschi presso la Scuola di Architettura di Barcellona. Il disegno osserva l'estetica neoistorica che fu insegnata all'epoca.
