Il pastello su carta, realizzato a Milano nel 1912 da Antonio Ambrogio Alciati come testimonia la firma sul centro inferiore, raffigura una giovane donna con un cappello largo. La carnagione pallida del viso contrasta con il nero del cappello arricchito di piume dorate e si distingue contro le tonalità rosse e viola dello scialle e i fiori sullo sfondo. La figura femminile, costruita con un chiaro rigore costruttivo, mostra un cromatismo vivace che rivela un sapiente uso dei colori e una facile stesura impressionistica.
