"Il rame era un supporto pittorico popolare alla fine del XVI e all'inizio del XVII secolo, e fu usato per questa Allegoria. Pictura si ispira al suo bellissimo modello (Venus), mentre l'Architettura disegna un castello-fort centrale; la poesia scrive e la musica strums lute. Di fronte al veronese, questo tableau cheerily erotico è tipico del manierismo internazionale."
