Originariamente situato nel centro del soffitto del salotto di No. 4 Adelphi Terrace, Londra, la casa degli architetti Robert e James Adam, e circondato da altri quattordici medaglioni dipinti. L'artista Antonio Zucchi fu nominato membro associato della Royal Academy nel 1770 e fu il principale pittore decorativo di Robert Adam.
