Il pasto del tiratore negli obiettivi di Footbow o St. Jorisdoelen ad Amsterdam per celebrare la conclusione della pace di Munster, 18 giugno 1648. Il capitano Cornelis Jansz Witsen (con il corno d'argento), il tenente Johan Oetgens van Waveren (che scuote la mano), il guardiamarina Jacob Banningh (siede accanto al grande tamburo), Dirck Claesz Thoveling e Thomas Hartog (sergeants), Pieter van Hoorn, Willem Pietersz van der Voort, Adriaen Dirck Spar Sul grande tamburo appende un giornale con una poesia di Jan Vos. Attraverso le finestre aperte è visibile la facciata del birrificio "l'Agnello" sul Singel. A destra, una donna porta una torta di tacchino. Sul tavolo ci sono piatti di latta, voci e altri occhiali. A sinistra c'è un grande refrigerante in metallo con una canna da vino.
