Anna Pauwlona, la Principessa d'Orange, ricevette Alessandro II, Gran Principe ed erede della Russia, presso il Czaar Peterhuisje a Zaandam, 17 aprile 1839. La principessa presenta il gran gelo una foglia su cui il pane (in forma turbante) e il sale in un vaso di sale, un noto rituale di benvenuto russo.
