Durante il suo periodo a Pont-Aven, Amiet produsse solo due opere sul tema della Bretagna. Questa stampa di una donna Breton è una delle due incisioni, di cui solo tre o quattro stampe di ciascuno sono state fatte. Poi tornò a vivere in Svizzera. I lavori prodotti da Amiet durante il suo tempo a Pont-Aven sono diventati estremamente rari, in quanto molti di loro sono stati persi al fuoco nella mostra Glaspalast del 1931 a Monaco. L’opera di Amiet è stata ispirata dal simbolismo e dall’Art Nouveau e dall’espressionismo, e porta il segno della sua cultura internazionale e stretti legami con un grande cerchio di amici d’artista.
