All'inizio degli anni '70 David Porter fu un fotografo che contribuì ad alcune delle più influenti pubblicazioni della musica rock australiana e underground (Go-Set, Daily/Planet, Rolling Stone (Australian Edition), The Digger). Porter era basato a Melbourne, il suo soggetto lo zeitgeist della sua musica Rock/Pop, teatro sotterraneo e scene di controcultura, a volte lavorando come ‘David Porter’, a volte ‘Jacques L’Affrique’, a volte ‘Jack Africa’. Prodotta i primi dieci successi per Russell Morris, Ronnie Burns, Colleen Hewett, Supernaut, The Ferrets. ARIA Award per i successi speciali (1994). Inserito nella ARIA Hall of Fame (2014). Michael. Promotore, agente, direttore. Aperta Sebastians discotheque (1968). Configura l'Australian Entertainment Exchange (gestendo le migliori band come Doug Parkinson In Focus e Billy Thorpe & The Aztecs). Nel 1970 con Michael Gudinski formò Consolidated Rock, e pubblicò (Daily)Planet (1971/72). Consolidated Rock ripiegato nel 1973, apre il Hard Rock Café di Melbourne. Became AC/DC manager 1974. Nel 1980 ha creato Deluxe Records e Publishing, firmando INXS. Pubblicato Makin’ it a Melbourne. 6 novembre 1971 (p.16)
