Nel XVII secolo, Ding Yunpeng divenne famoso per le sue fantastiche raffigurazioni di luohan. Questa pergamena porta una firma di Ding, ma le forme facciali delle figure e le pennellate gossamer-light fluttering suggeriscono che si tratta di una copia ottocentesca. All'estremità sinistra del rotolo vicino alla cima, l'artista ha finito la composizione con un drago squisitamente disegnato che scende sulle nuvole, per essere addomesticato dal luohan seduto che apre la bocca per chiamare la bestia al tallone.
