Questo pattinatore di ghiaccio a piombo cavo è tra le molte figure di me store progettate da Olive Kooken (1904-1964) per la Barclay Company del New Jersey. Alle 22, Kooken si trasferì dal Kansas per studiare alla New York Art Students League. Ha lavorato facendo stampi per l'industria delle caramelle e successivamente modellato figure art deco per le lampade. La sua tana per scolpire figural le ha fatto un lavoro alla Barclay Company nei primi anni trenta, dove ha scolpito prototipi per la maggior parte della loro linea civile di pattinatori e figure ferroviarie. Questa figura e altre dalla sua linea a tema invernale rimasero in produzione negli anni '60.
