Edme Bouchardon, a Roma dal 1723 al 1732, prese un antico torso e lo aggiunse, trasformandolo in spirito di abbondanza. Quello che vediamo ora è una ragazza nuda seduta su una cornucopia da cui fiori, frutti, gioielli e monete stanno versando, appoggiandosi leggermente in avanti per offrire rose nella mano destra. Il torso proveniva dalla raccolta del cardinale Melchior de Polignac, grande ammiratore dell'antichità classica. Come ambasciatore francese in Vaticano aveva organizzato numerosi scavi nelle vicinanze di Roma. La grazia naturale della ragazza è rappresentata in uno stile rococò francese.
