Vaudreuil (1740–1817) è stato il più importante patrono privato di Vigée Le Brun. Un compagno del comte d’Artois, il fratello profligato del re, fu anche l’amante della duchesse de Polignac, che ottenne per lui vari appuntamenti remunerativi dalla regina. In abbigliamento formale con ordini e decorazioni, presenta una bella figura se piuttosto sottomessa.
