Dopo aver sposato il principe Boris Andreyevich Golitsyn, la principessa Boris (1763–1842), mentre venne per essere chiamata, allevò una famiglia di otto figli. Ha anche posseduto di una delle più grandi fortune dell'impero e ha ospitato un salone influente a San Pietroburgo. Per questo monumentale ritratto, indossa un abito a casa: un delicato abito chemise con un peignoir di seta a maniche corte contraddistinto da una gamma di lussureggianti colori complementari. Il suo turbante cremisi esotico è decorato con un panache di piume.
