Nonostante la sua condizione generalmente scarsa, questo è un lavoro di notevole interesse. Le pose della Vergine e del Bambino sono particolarmente inventive. L'immagine è stata attribuita a Pesellino, ma è stato anche pensato un lavoro senese vicino a Domenico di Bartolo. È probabilmente fiorentino e risale al 1440 circa. La cornice, anche se originale, è stata rigirata.
