Venus Consoling Love (1751) è un olio su tela di François Boucher. Il tema particolare di questo dipinto è un trattamento giocoso di un tema popolare: Venere disciplining suo figlio Cupido. Secondo le leggende, Cupido ha un arco e una freccia con cui può sparare agli esseri umani e farli innamorare. Cupido è un giovane gleeful e ama usare le sue frecce, spesso in modi mischevo e anche dannosi. Quindi sua madre, come dea dell'amore, doveva spesso disciplinarlo. Viene mostrata qui portando via la sua quiver di frecce, molto al godimento degli altri putti, creature alata come Cupido, ma manca la sua capacità di forzare la gente in amore.
