Questo studio è stato eseguito per il Tempietto, una piccola chiesa nel cortile di San Pietro a Montorio a Roma. Si ritiene che il cortile sia il luogo del martirio di San Pietro. L'architetto ha chiaramente lavorato da una tipologia storica: elementi architettonici individuali come colonne, entablature e volte riconoscono un debito alle strutture classiche. Il conseguente edificio centralizzato rappresentava un nuovo tipo di architettura cristiana.
