Questo pannello affascinante è probabilmente dal quadro di una grande pala d'altare. Il suo autore era attivo a Ravenna, ma sia Francesco che suo fratello Bernardino erano molto influenzati dal pittore Ferrarese Erocole de" Roberti e dal pittore bolognese Lorenzo Costa. Questo lavoro risale a circa 1500. Originaria di Siracusa, Santa Lucia fu martirizzata sotto l'imperatore romano Diocleziano nel 303. Lei è molto venerata ed è tradizionalmente pregata per disturbi oculari.
