Questo incantevole acquerello raffigura il banchetto nuziale che si tenne nel settembre 1790 per celebrare il matrimonio tra Armand Jules Marie, secondo duca di Polignac, e Baronessa Ida Johanna Linna van Neukirchen. La festa di nozze ha avuto luogo sulla terraferma, alla villa Gradenigo a Carpenedo. C'erano 34 ospiti seduti intorno a un tavolo da pranzo monumentale. L'assenza di personale di servizio e altri dettagli supporta l'ipotesi che questo sia uno schizzo che il pittore avrebbe poi utilizzato per svolgere un lavoro più raffinato, in realtà mai realizzato.
