In questa rappresentazione di un fumo tranquillo al di fuori di una cabina occidentale, Remington crea una scena di compagnia rilassata; il casual, posti a sedere makeshift, la parrucca di fumo di sigaretta dalla bocca della figura a sinistra, e l'arrangiamento di figure per specchiare il dolce pendio verso il basso del tetto, migliorare l'effetto. Poiché la figura seduta con la schiena allo spettatore blocca la maggior parte della luce del fuoco, i toni freddi del chiaro di luna dominano, e contribuiscono alla calma umore del dipinto.
