Ha anche una palla nella mano sinistra. Matita firmata con il cypher. Frederick Childe Hassam (1859-1935), uno dei principali impressionisti americani, fu un artista prolifico dal 1882 alla sua morte nel 1935. Conosciuto principalmente per i suoi acquerelli, iniziò a stampare all'età di 56 anni. Hassam trascorse le sue estati a East Hampton a Long Island, dove incontrò e fece amicizia con il tennis Helen Wills. Hassam insegnò a Wills, artista dilettante, incisione in questo periodo. Hassam ha fatto diversi studi di Helen Wills che sono stati stampati in piccoli numeri.
