Questa chitarra è notevole per la sua decorazione elaborata, soprattutto la dita con la madreperla incisa e pannelli colorati. Le prime sette sezioni della tastiera raffigurano famosi edifici e monumenti, tra cui il Palais du Luxembourg, Porte Saint-Denis e l'Ecole Militaire, mentre i pannelli inferiori raffigurano strumenti musicali, armi e armature e motivi floreali. Il produttore, George Chanot, fece strumenti a corda a Parigi durante la metà del XIX secolo. Ci sono rapporti che questa chitarra è stata mostrata alla fiera mondiale di Londra (1851). Mentre è certamente il tipo di strumento molto decorato e vistoso che potrebbe essere stato esposto, dobbiamo ancora scoprire la prova del suo display, così come le prove che sostengono la voce che era una volta di proprietà dell'imperatrice Eugenie di Francia.
