La Vergine e il Bambino sono in trono in un giardino recintato, una probabile metafora della sua verginità. Sulla destra Santa Barbara legge un libro. Mary Magdalene, seduta accanto alla sua tenuta sul vaso di unguento, sembra girare le pagine. A sinistra Santa Caterina riceve un anello dal Cristo neonato (rifiutò di sposare un imperatore per il motivo che era già sposata con Cristo). Il mondo quotidiano rappresentato al di là del muro è stato forse dipinto da Bruges contemporaneo. David!
