Il Pantheon, dedicato a tutti gli dei, fu costruito dall'imperatore Adriano (117-138) tra 118 e 128 per sostituire un tempio dedicato da Marco Agrippa nel 27 a.C. Adriano, con tatto caratteristico, lasciò il credito ad Agrippa nell'iscrizione sul tempio
