Dipinta da un punto di vista ad ovest della rappresentazione di Emmanuel de Witte della stessa chiesa appese nelle vicinanze, l’immagine di Van Vliet dà una resa un po’ più accurata di alcuni motivi architettonici, come il pulpito e i mattoni rossi sull’arco che conduce al coro. Ma questa immagine condivide con De Witte il motivo di una tomba fresca, un riferimento inquietante alla morte in mezzo all’attività quotidiana.
