In questo dipinto, Sorgh inflette una scena domestica con l'arte della vita ferma. Due coperchi pulire pesce e buccia verdure in primo piano, circondato da ottone gleaming e terracotta. Uno sguardo più vicino rivela un gatto malizioso, una gabbia di uccelli aperta, e, appena visibile tra i due servi, una coppia accarezza nelle ombre. Anche tali elementi apparentemente innocui come i vasi di terracotta avrebbero portato una connotazione erotica per gli spettatori del XVII secolo.
