Questo dipinto raffigura l'insediamento di Hobart sul fiume Derwent, sotto la forma impressionante del Monte Wellington. Un certo numero di punti di riferimento Hobart sono anche riconoscibili, tra cui Constitution Dock, Victoria Dock, Cowgills mulino a vento e St. Georges chiesa.
