Inman e Cummings hanno realizzato miniature insieme per un breve periodo (1825–27). Le opere su cui hanno collaborato sono molto fini e estremamente rare, e si collocano tra le più belle miniature americane prodotte nel XIX secolo. Il presente lavoro presenta la tecnica elaborata e altamente finita di Inman e il dettaglio minuto di Cummings.
