Questo frammento una volta apparteneva a un handscroll che raffigurava la poesia di tutta l'antologia Centinaia Poesie di Cento Poeti. Il underpainting in oro e argento di Tawaraya Sōtatsu descrive il ciclo di vita del loto, una pianta associata al Buddhismo. Le due poesie qui sono di Fujiwara no Akisuke (1090–1155) e Lady Horikawa (attivo alla fine del XII secolo).
