La scena di un egreto e un albero salice simboleggiavano le lotte che un individuo avrebbe affrontato per ottenere il riconoscimento professionale. Qui, il piumaggio bianco innevato dell'uccello è raffigurato in rovescio contro un lavaggio di inchiostro accuratamente spazzolato.
