Questa pergamena registra un viaggio lungo il fiume Yodo da Kyoto a Osaka fatto nella primavera del 1767 da Jakuchū, uno degli artisti più inventivi del periodo Edo, e il suo mentore Daiten Kenjō (1719–1801), un monaco Zen. Nelle poesie impromptu di Daiten e negli schizzi di Jakuchū, i due amici catturano lo scenario della regione di Kyoto. Jakuchū trasformò i suoi disegni in stampe a blocchi di legno utilizzando una tecnica che imitava l'aspetto di strofinacci inchiostri cinesi prelevati da lastre di pietra.
