Anche se questo oboe barocco di pera di Jacob Denner (Nuremberg, Germania, ca. 1725) è dotato di tre chiavi in ottone, i due tasti laterali sono in realtà duplicati che permettono al giocatore di scegliere se giocare o meno lo strumento di destra o di sinistra. Allo stesso modo, la chiave più lunga, chiamata la grande chiave (o chiave di coda di rondine), ha due touchpieces che permettono allo strumento di essere giocato con la mano destra sopra la sinistra, o viceversa. Jacob Denner, membro di una famiglia di costruttori di strumenti a fiato, è stato uno dei più noti produttori tedeschi di oboe durante il barocco.
