L'iscrizione incisa su questo caso legge: Edwin Greble a Susan V. Major / 1829. / Verniciata da Jas. Smith. Edwin Greble (1806-1883) di Filadelfia gestiva un marmo e opere di granito che producevano mantel, monumenti del cimitero e elementi architettonici. Aveva questo ritratto in miniatura di se stesso fatto come regalo alla sua fidanzata, Susan Virginia Major (1808-1875), che sposò nel 1831. La finestra rivela una treccia complicata dei capelli di Greble, intesa come un intimo ricordo del suo affetto per Susan.
