Nel 1918 Jeanne Lanvin (1867-1946) iniziò a progettare Stilkleider (“abito da stile”) con un carattere romantico che differiva radicalmente dalla linea di fatto e rigorosa degli anni 20. Questo abito da ballo a tutta lunghezza, con ampia gonna a due livelli, è un'altra iterazione di questo. Il corpetto stretto con vita allungata ha spalline a tracolla larghe e scollature profonde, quadrate anteriori e posteriori. Il busto è reso con splendido strass e ricami di perle di faux, con fiorini neri e decorazione addizionale rilievo di bottoni ornamentali con strass. Le leggeri ruches trasversali sono incorporate nelle cuciture del corpetto. Entrambi i valances hanno cuciture laterali aperte. Il Costume Institute del Metropolitan Museum di New York possiede una variante del modello visto qui, la gonna è identica ma il corpetto mostra un design alternativo (Inv. n. C.I.46.4.18 a,b).
